Just a little about the "Fort", the city is located along the North Saskatchewan River just 25 kilometres (16 mi) northeast of Edmonton, Alberta . In 1875, under the command of Inspector W.D. Jarvis, the RCMP (Royal Canadian Mounted Police) established Fort Saskatchewan as a fort. In 1899 the fort was incorporated as a village, then a town 1904, and finally in 1985 as a city.
It is well-known for its proximity to petrochemical facilities, including Dow Chemical, Sherritt International, and Shell Canada (all of which FloraWorld can deliver to).
Anothe claim to fame is its flock of 50 sheep that roam its downtown park
throughout the summer months eating the grass, natures lawn mowers. The city mascot is a
sheep named Auggie. |
