Agapanthus Africans
Spectacular funnel-shaped florets in a round cluster that is 4" to 6" across. This is a true focal flower with strong, single stems; available in blue with stems of 30"-39" and white with stems of 20"-24". In the United States, Agapanthus are sometimes called African Lily or Lily of the Nile. With proper care, Agapanthus have a vase life of 5 to 7 days.

Available: Year-round from Central and South America.

Pack: Single stems in half boxes. Quantities vary by grade.

Care & Handling:
  • Remove flowers from box and carefully remove the nylon shipping net from the flower.
  • Cut 1" from the stems and place in 10"-12" of cool water with the correct amount of floral preservative.
  • Change preservative solution every 2-3 days.
  • Whenever possible, keep refrigerated at 33-35°F, after conditioning.
  • Agapanthus are ethylene sensitive. Keep away from all external sources of ethylene, such as fruit, carbon monoxide and decaying plant material.
Design Suggestions:
  • These special flowers will draw attention in any design. They lend themselves to dramatic party or business pieces that rely on simplicity.
  • Use in arrangements for the home. You can achieve a beautiful "garden" look, or a dramatic statement with a simple design of a few stems anchored in marbles.
  • Tie three stems together in a parallel design with a "'Happy Birthday"' ribbon and a balloon.
Merchandising Tips:
  • Display a few Agapanthus, on the floor, at the front of your display area to attract attention.
  • They provide an excellent display contrast with other large focal flowers like Birds or Callas.
